Hanif Maidin is an independent photographer based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Experience working with kids living with HIV inspires him to explore better visual narrative in storytelling. His interest in photography as form of activism with focus on documenting people and the city.
His work has been featured in KLue magazine, Poskod.My, and Fotografika. His works were exhibited in KL PHOTO.BOM Asia by Asians, A Documentary Photo Exhibition on September 2012 and Barricade @ White Box Publika on February 2013. He was on curator team for Photoprojek: Bersih 3.0 / Retrospect, a crowd source photo exhibition project on KL mass protest.
He considers himself very fortunate to able to spend good amount of time on personal projects. Beside photography, he teaches optics for optometry undergrads.
